Come to MY Town BANKSY: To some a genius, to others a vandal.

BANKSY is a street artist from the U.K., who interestingly enough chooses to remain anonymous; meaning his identity has never been revealed due to his own choice. He is hated by some, and revered by others, and I am here to say: stop hating on him and his art! He believes art should be expressed anywhere and everywhere because art is universal, art lifts people's spirits and enriches lives. People that dislike him include graffiti haters, cops and corporate CEOs. Why you might ask? Some of the locations and surfaces he chooses to attach his art to are not ideal display venues. What I mean by this is he tends to make 'extremist' or 'leftist' statements by placing his art on corporate building faces and public areas that are not an art house or museum. He has also been known to illegally place his own artwork on the walls of large art houses and museums fooling patrons into thinking his art is approved and registered and professionally recognized.

This is just a taste of what he has done in New York alone. He has a price on his head well over hundreds of thousands of dollars, and because his identity has remained unknown to everyone in the world, he hasn't been found or caught to 'pay for his crimes' as some people see it. He is my idol and hero. Explore the vastness of his legacy at some of these sites:
